Our Mission

As a family owned and operated business, we at Toccoa House Properties take pride in offering some of the best vacation rentals in Blue Ridge, Georgia. We own the land, designed and built each of the cabins, and personally manage the day-to-day operations.

Because of our hands-on involvement, we believe we offer a professional and friendly rental service far better than that of the typical rental management agency. Our goal is to exceed the expectations of each and every guest.

The Toccoa House Story

Proprietor Greg Spencer initially discovered the Blue Ridge area on a backpacking trip to the Cohutta Wilderness in the 1980’s. A short time later, enamored of the area, Greg embarked on a land purchasing mission that led him to 12 acres of undeveloped acreage. Amazed by the beauty of the Toccoa River and the inspiring views of the surrounding mountains, Greg wasted no time in securing what is now known as the Toccoa House Properties.

During the 1990’s Greg built a small cabin, The Riverside Cabin, on the Toccoa River, and envisioned a larger house that he later built on the ridge above: The Toccoa House, completed in 2000. Next came The Carriage House in 2002, and the in-ground, seasonally heated swimming pool in 2007. Our newest addition, The Grey Heron House, was completed in late 2007.

Our pets and property mascots, Budrow and Bobby Jo (BJ is named for the Blue Ridge couple, Bobby and Jo, who gave him to us, thank you so much!!), may greet you if they happen to be on the property when you visit. While they often bark, what they really want is for you to pet them!

We lived on the the Toccoa House property for about five years (2003-2008) while building the later cabins and pool, but have recently built a new house on a "very challenging lot" in Chamblee, Georgia, which we absolutely love (inside I-285 with a five acre wilderness behind our property...thank you Georgia Power and Dekalb County!!). We still spend 2-4 nights per week at Toccoa House Properties loving every minute, and staying in whichever property is available and where we most need to focus on the guest experience. Our goal is to stay at each cabin at least once a month, so we can ensure the ultimate guest experience (it's a rough life!). If you see us on the property strolling the grounds, or giving Budrow and Bobby Jo a walk about, feel free to say 'Hello' and let us know if there is anything we can do to accentuate your guest experience.
